TV: The Ford Mustang Mach-E Muscles Its Way Into An EV Leader

The Ford Mustang Mach-E was one of the first EVs I test drove upon its release in 2021. Chalk it up to marketing for the Mustang nameplate as this electric SUV has little resemblance to the classic muscle car that has been around for 60 years. But make no mistake; it’s still zippy.

I recently spent a week in the 2025 version and found it to be fashionably sparse inside which is kind of the norm with today’s EVs. Yes, it has a massive touchscreen front-and-center for easy access to almost every feature. The Mach-E sports the latest version of Ford’s SYNC infotainment system. It remains intuitive and colorful with strong graphics for the nav and audio selections.

Speaking of audio, I probably spent more time playing with the built-in karaoke system than I did driving. The drive is smooth and it can make between 264-490 horsepower depending on which of the four main trim levels you choose.

I also spent some time in this piece discussing the current public charging system on the U.S. roads today. Confusion still remains between the Tesla-type supercharger (NACS) and CCS. The industry seems to be moving toward a consolidated system with Tesla being the standard. Until then, I show you how to use an adapter.
