Speaking of London…

…and I know you are, we did several radio shows from London back in April 2007.  The London Visitors Bureau and British Airways wanted to spotlight the city to Americans so they selected five U.S. cities for a special promotion. They brought one radio host from each city to broadcast his show from the famed London Eye, next to the River Thames.  And guess who they selected from Houston?

Copy of mfk04eyeQL3I8514 I do a lot of live remote broadcasts and fam tours from all over the world but that London trip will always be hard to top.  Highlights included having a personal tour guide and driver the entire week (and his expense account didn’t hurt for drinks), no waiting in lines for anything (I continue to apologize to all those blokes waiting hours to get in Westminster Abbey as we waltzed right by), reservations at the top restaurants that usually take months (Jamie Oliver really isn’t the “naked” chef; very dapper clothes, actually), and a personal meeting and afternoon tea with Mohamed Al Fayed (the then-owner of Harrod’s department store and father of the infamous Dodi Al Fayed.

The world is now focused on the beautiful city of London as the XXX Summer Olympics are being held now.  Thought I would share a few shots from our great view of the city during my show from a few years ago.

We have since been to many countries, cities, resorts and various locations to bring a bit of the world back to our listeners.  We have a blast during all of our visits but that London trip will be hard to beat.

Cheerio, ya’ll.
